DNSManager offers a graphical view of the DNS resources as well as a global and centralized administration. DNSManager answers to the operators’ needs that face more and more complex DNS services. Centralization of DNS administration

DNSManager provides a global representation of DNS servers through an intuitive web interface enabling an efficient and quick visual representation of the configurations.

Semantic search engines are available at each DNS configuration level allowing the achievement of a search with multiple inputs on all servers regardless of their number and type.

Maintains configurations integrity

DNSManager ensures the conformity —coherence of CNAME and PTR registrations, conformity of DNS addresses with the addressing plan— of the configurations and of the administration tasks performed by users . DNSManager anticipates data entering mistakes by denying the access to the incoherent configurations. That functionality guarantees the integrity as well as the availability of the service.

Configuration automation

DNSManager proposes a powerful rule engine enabling to automate recurrent administration tasks, such as the automatic update of reverse zones or the automatic creation of zones. These rules are configurable and adaptable depending on the needs or constraints of the operators: they allow the increase of productivity and the quality of the service. The activation of these mechanisms associated to trigger filters is executed from the graphical interface in a very easy way.

DNS performances monitoring

In order to enable operators to check the performance of their DNS services in a quick way, statistics and dash-boards are available in a standard version of DNSManager. DNSManager offers the possibility to use statistics tools from other performance management systems as well as generating reports with XML and XSLT languages.  

Scalable platform

By managing DNS servers in optimal way, DNSManager provides a high performance solution for the operators. DNSManager can administer several million of zones and ensures the creation of new zones, dynamically in few seconds without service interruption. DNSManager controls BIND9 DNS services as well as EfficientIP IPMDNS services and supports more than 30 000 requests per second. With such performances, DNSManager ensures a high availability and a strong scalability of DNS services.

IT processes integration

In order to automate services and thus improve their quality, the operators define processes —Provisioning, SLA, and Billing— through an Operations Support System (OSS). EfficientIP proposes to integrate DNSManager to existing processes in order to deploy and manage the operator DNS services.

This integration requests the communication between DNSManager tool and third applications —inventory, workflow— from the operator . It is carried out through Application Program Interface (API) based on XML or Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) services.
