IPRegistry
IP Address Referencing & Provisionning Management for Network Service Provider
The unceasing development of added-value services proposed by operators needs the setting down of a strategy of IP addressing management associated to these services. IPRegistry provides functionalities allowing referenciation, provisionation, planing and management of IP addressing for the operators’ networks.
IPRegistry is able to represent the IP addressing depending of the Network Providers’ organization in order to differentiate services, geographic zones and entities. The flexibility of this organization of resources guarantees a strong and quick reactivity to your network evolutions.
Document IP addressing plan
The base of an IP addressing plan is the addresses numbering. This information is necessary but insufficient in order to ensure an optimal management of the operators’ complex networks. IPRegistry permits the documentation of addressing plans by associating informations such as names and services, technical references or customer references.
Modeling complex addressing plans
IPRegistry allows the modeling of IP addressing plans including the technical constraints (VRF, MPLS, IP-VPN, BGP AS, circuits, network peering, NOC's loopbacks), the sales constraints (customers classification, type of sale offers) and the geographical constraints (points of presence location). IPRegistry allows an immediate access to all the resources associated to a client, a service or a region.
Apply address management processes
Operators often use processes to facilitate the administration of their networks. The creation of new parameters (peer for a new customer, new loopback address) is carried out through processes defining the engineering rules to be applied (automatic choice of label, address or subnet mask). IPRegistry can be integrated in the operators’ processes by directly applying assignment rules of IP addresses from the graphical interface. This integration covers the complete automation of addresses assignment, as well as the capabilities management and the application of naming rules.
Plan the addresses consumption
IPRegistry helps the operators to maintain a methodic organization in their addresses management. The Internet resources allocation provided by the official organizations cannot tolerate wastefulness. IPRegistry allows the visualization of the addresses blocks’ segmentation and thus provides an image of the actual use of the operator capacities.
IPRegistry is able to limit the anarchical segmentation of addresses’ blocks by optimizing the supplying of contiguous addresses blocks and by providing statistics about the blocks segmentation rate.
IT integration
In order to optimize the performance of the addressing service, IPRegistry can be integrated in the OSS/BSS processes through APIs which are based on XML or WSOAP (SOAP Web services) languages. This integration rests on the definition of transactions with the operator third-applications: inventory, registration to RIR, networks building, capabilities management, configuration management and workflow.
Update of Regional Internet Registries
The Internet IP addresses assignment is governed by rules to which the operators have to refer. IPRegistry integrates these rules directly in the interface in order to industrialize the declarations to the RIR. Through graphical assistants, the operator is step-by-step guided to allocate the addresses for his customers. IPRegistry completes those processes by automatically verifying the assignment window, by covering registration deletions, the importation of bases and the storage of exchanges to the RIR.
